Are you tired of doing the same things over and over - only hurting yourself?

Are past experiences (abuse, loss, grief) not letting you get on with your life?
Is fear driving the bus?
Is your relationship is real trouble?

Carolyn Lentz, MA., Registered Psychologist, brings her expertise, experience, and compassion to her work with individuals and couples looking for help to change.

ABOUT CAROLYN:

Carolyn has been committed to and passionate about helping people for a long time...

Shortly after she graduated from the University of Alberta in 1990 with her BA. in Psychology, she began to work for the Edmonton Women's Shelter (WIN House).  She worked for there for the better part of the 90's.  Her work at the shelter changed her life as one can imagine - changed her focus.  It felt like important work - not only because of the impact of working with hundreds of women and children fleeing domestic violence, but important on a societal level.  This work allowed Carolyn to walk with those who suffered so greatly and she was part of something larger that said 'no' to this violence.  This work propelled her to go on to Grad School and then on to complete her registration process as a Psychologist in 2002.

PHILOSOPHY:

Carolyn believes that beyond her training and eclectic approach she offers, change can happen only in a place of safety, trust, compassion, and acceptance.  So often, our trauma, our beliefs about ourselves (who we have to be in the world), and our coping strategies are a direct result of our past experiences of not feeling safe, accepted, or worthy of care.  So, she starts there... From that place, healing can happen... feelings can be felt and expressed, self-defeating and shaming core-beliefs can be challenged, shifts in perspective and behavior can be made.
