Hello and thank you for visiting this page! My name is Sandy Kiaizadeh, and I’m clinical mental health counsellor at Toronto's Mindful Solutions Clinic. In addition to being a counsellor, I am also a life coach and mindfulness teacher. If you’ve found me on this web page, chances are you’ve realized that you’re ready to make some changes in your life, but need some help with figuring out how to make it happen.
My road to working in the field of health services was a long and windy one. As a young graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce, I embarked on a successful 15+ year career working in corporate Human Resources. The work was challenging and financially rewarding, but at the back of my mind, there was always something unknown gnawing away at me - a certain professional dissatisfaction that became unrelenting. I began looking inward to decipher what aspects of my work I loved so that I could move my professional life toward it, and leave behind what I felt was holding me back. My journey led me back to school, to retrain as a life coach, and subsequent to that, to attain my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. This career transition was intense and came with some sacrifices along the way, but the end result is that I have never been more satisfied in my career! I genuinely LOVE working one on one with clients like you - people who have come to the realisation that something in their life is impeding on their overall satisfaction.
Today, I live and work in the busy "hustle and bustle" of downtown Toronto, where it always seems like everyone is on the metaphorical treadmill of a go-go-go lifestyle. I firmly believe in the body-mind-spirit connection, and as such, I am committed to my personal daily yoga and mindfulness practice of 15+ years. My daily meditation practice, coupled with my conscious decision to embody everyday mindfulness - both personally and professionally - are keys to my sense of overall life satisfaction. I believe that a solid work-life balance is a key to overall mental health and wellbeing.
The body-mind-spirit connection is the three-pronged life force within all of us; when one aspect is not in sync, sooner or later, everything else will be out of alignment. I provide solutions-focused counselling and life coaching that is primarily grounded in the practice of mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies. I believe that you already have the inner wisdom needed to achieve your wellbeing and happiness; my role is to shine a light on your strengths, and guide you through a process of compassionate self-inquiry that will increase your insight, re-connect you with what matters to you (your values), and help you feel more empowered to make lasting, positive changes in your life.
In short, our work together will help move you toward your values and life goals (even if you may yet not be 100% clear on what these are - that's what we will uncover together!). My work with clients is typically brief in length (approximately 8-15 sessions overall), though may be longer at times, depending on your overarching therapeutic goal(s). The majority of my clients experience noticeable, positive shifts in their lives within only a handful of sessions. Lasting, positive change is possible and achievable, as long as you’re ready to take on the inner work. Isn’t it time you put yourself first to create a more rewarding reality?
I have experience working with adults who are faced with a variety of life’s challenges – like depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, and day-to-day stress. Other clients I’ve worked with have sought help with me regarding their sense of self-worth, self-esteem, life purpose, life transitions, sexual identity, family conflict, vocational stress, or spirituality. You don’t have to have a mental health diagnosis to receive benefits from counselling and coaching! In fact, the majority of my clients are functioning adults who are simply experiencing a difficult "bump in the road” in their life’s journey.

Whatever the challenge that you’re currently facing, my general approach in working with you is one of acceptance, collaboration, openness, and most of all compassion. I was raised in bilingual Montreal in a multi-lingual immigrant family; I learned early on how to gently balance Eastern culture and minority religion with the Western way of life. I am fluently English and French bilingual (and I have a working knowledge of Spanish and Farsi). I genuinely enjoy working with adults of all ages, cultures, races, spiritualities, economic backgrounds and sexual orientations. I am 100% LGBTQ inclusive and affirmative.
